We will also guarantee to do your CBT on your 16th Birthday if you book with two weeks' notice. NB ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE BOTH PARTS OF THEIR LICENCE IN THEIR HANDS TO TRAIN. THIS IS A LEGAL & INSURANCE REQUIREMENT AND THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

CBT candidates do not need to take a Motorcycle Theory Test unless they are preparing to do a Practical Test at a later date.
The price includes the loan of all equipment, full damage waiver insurance, bike hire for the day, and a DL196 certificate. Students wishing to use their own bike are entitled to a £20 discount on the course price. Students' machines must be road-legal, and have all the relevant legal documentation and must be insured for the student to train under instruction.
If a student is unable to complete the off-road elements of the course successfully by 1230 and is therefore not ready to go onto the road, they will be asked to return for further tuition on another day, at a reduced cost of £70. Further off-road training may be available in the afternoon subject to staff availability.
CBT is available 7 days a week starting at 0830, and finishing around 1700.

For the Module #1 test layout, click here. For the DSA official Module #1 video, click here. Before starting any full licence course, candidates must have completed and passed the Motorcycle Theory Test, which can be booked by us on your behalf. There must be a minimum 10 working days between your Theory Test and the start of your training to allow for the possibility of a fail and retest. The Motorcycle Theory Test is NOT the same as the Car Theory Test. Note we can offer individually-designed courses to fit around work and play - call for details and prices.
On full licence courses we will endeavour to supply the same instructor for the duration of your course. However we cannot guarantee this, therefore students must produce their valid UK licence plus valid CBT certificate on every training day. These documents can be stored in our office during your course.
All training sessions after CBT are intensive sessions comprising four hours on the machine, beginning at 0830 or 1300. In our experience anything longer is counter-productive as there is a limit to the amount any student can do in a single day, and after four hours students' concentration levels dip dramatically, not to mention those aching muscles!
Note that an extra session between the tests can be booked and then removed if not required with no penalty. Made-to-measure sessions can also be created around a student's timetable, enabling them to be flexible with their training and times.
SESSION 1: CBT - 125cc - statutory off-road tuition followed by maximum 2:1 on-road with a DSA-qualified instructor. 0830 start.
SESSION 2: 125cc DAS SESSION - road-ride session designed to take the nerves away and boost confidence, and make the operation of riding a motorcycle second nature. Exceptional students may also changeover on to a 500cc bike for the second half of this session. 0830 or 1300 start
NOTE THAT THIS SESSION CAN BE SWAPPED FOR FOUR DAYS BIKE HIRE FOR THE SAME PRICE.
SESSION 3: CHANGEOVER SESSION - 500cc - a student's first taste of a large motorcycle. Short practice off-road, followed by the rest of the session on-road. 0830 or 1300 start.

We do not object if a student wishes to use their own bike for the CBT or 125cc training, though our 125cc and 500cc bikes are chosen to make the transition from one to the other as easy as possible. All students must do their 500cc training on our bikes.
Students wishing to use their own bike must have insurance, MOT and any other relevant paperwork with them or they will not be able to ride their bike on the road. In this case we will endeavour to hire one of our own bikes, providing there is one available on the day. In the case of no bike being available, the student will be treated as a having not completed the course and will have to return on another day for a charge of £70, and will not be entitled to a refund.
POST-TEST TRAINING [INCLUDING THE D.S.A. ENHANCED RIDER SCHEME], BACK-TO-BIKING & ADVANCED INSTRUCTION
Many students find that, even after intensive training and a Practical Test pass, they are in need of a little extra tuition to gain confidence. Dale Young, co-owner of MKMT, is listed on the official DSA Register Of Post-Test Motorcycle Trainers, qualified to offer post-test training of the highest quality as part of the DSA Enhanced Rider Scheme, and can help guide the new rider through the various facets of road-riding to enable them to go out alone with confidence. For more information on the RPMT, click here. Upon completion the student will receive a certificate allowing them a discount on insurance from the major insurers.
There is also a large number of older riders who passed their test, but have not ridden a for many years and would like to gain experience on today's more powerful machines before going out alone. Our instructors can gear a session or full day around your requirements and previous experience, using your machine or ours. They usually operate on a 1:1 basis.
We also offer specially-structured courses based around commuter and motorway training. Each course is different, but could include a trip to Central London, dealing with, and filtering in, heavy traffic, and safe motorway riding at speed. These extremely popular courses are the perfect way to give the final grounding before riding to work for the first time after your test. Usually [but not necessarily] conducted on your own bike, each session is uniquely tailored to the your specific requirements. Due to demand spaces are very limited, so students are advised to book early.
Further training for various IAM and ROSPA courses can also be arranged.
To enable students on full licence courses to practice away from the eyes of an instructor, they are able to hire a 125cc motorcycle overnight during their course at a cost of £40 per night [£45 for non-students], subject to conditions and a £250 deposit, taken in the form of a guaranteed cheque or credit card. This includes third-party insurance and equipment loan. In the event of accidental damage or traffic violations the deposit is not refunded.
We abide by the Distance Selling Regulation Act which states any booking made by credit or debit card over the phone can be cancelled for a full refund within 7 days. Aside from that, the following applies:
Postponement or cancellation of CBT is only possible with 3 clear working days’ notice.
Postponement or cancellation of any part of a Full Licence course is only possible with 10 clear working days’ notice.
All cancellations and refunds are subject to 12.5% administration fee and will be paid by cheque. Credit card surcharges are non-refundable.
